As many children born to the deity of
Quellious, peace and tranquility is stressed constantly. As was the case for Drakan, born
into Norrath with parents both devout followers of the God of the Tranquil. However much
they stressed peace to the young child, he was quite stubborn and had a yearning for power
and destruction. At a young age he discovered what he wanted in life, to wield the arcane
power of a wizard. This appalled his parents, and after 15 summers had passed, when a
young Erudite boy changes to a man, they gave him a choice: either follow in their
footsteps and become a Cleric, or leave home and live in the palace as an apprentice
wizard to the Guildmaster Skyphire. Needless to say, his yearnings of power drove him to
the later, to fulfill his dreams of becoming one of the Crimson Order, a wizard.
Shunned from his home by his own parents, he left to live
with those of the arcane arts. Constantly his masters pressured him into being a follower
of Solusek Ro, the Burning Prince. But alas, his youthful stubbornness arose, and remained
a subject of Quellious in honor of his parents and ancestors.
His tutors were quick to discover that there was a flame
inside of the young man, the potential of a mighty power was there and could be utilized
with proper knowledge. After nearly four winters of training Drakan became an apt pupil,
with a promising future ahead.
However Drakans ambitions could not keep him away from
danger. Constantly, against his masters wishes, he ventured deep into the Toxxulia
forest and was gone for days at a time. Slowly, the young man grew in power from constant
raisings of a few small kobold outposts. Once however, he did not come back after one of
his frequent excursions into the forest. After weeks of waiting he did not show up, and
his body could not be found. After approximately two full moons had passed, he returned,
but as a very changed young man.
He returned with new desires and wishes. Drakan went to his
master, and told him that he was going to leave Erudin and travel to the far reaches of
Norrath, to the Gnomish city of Akanon and the Steamfonts. His master was appalled
by this, and called it another of his foolish desires, refusing to allow Drakan to leave
and dismissed it with a turn of his head. Drakan however, could not accept this. In his
young, foolish anger, he abandoned his brethren once more.
He left soon after, taking to the East on a boat called
Seaking. This was the way he was meant to be, and thus began his journey
