Biography:
Many years before...
The Merchant train was moving quicker
the nearer it got to the woods. It was the Festival of the Budding for the Wood Elves, and
all around new it was going to be one of the biggest celebrations of the year, and also,
one of the biggest opportunities to earn some quick gold as a merchant at the celebration.
Gawain Mouthok, greedy in nature, was going to be the first merchant to arrive, even if he
had to kill his horses to do it...
Upon arriving, wood Elves flocked
around the merchant train as Gawain gallantly stepped down and announced he would be open
for business in one hour. Then, taking a path he knew well from many visits before, he
headed for the Council Tree, where he would request the honor of Guest Camp while trading
with the Wood Elves. Without doing this, he would not be allowed to trade at all, so he
wanted to get this done as quick as possible!!! There was money to be made, after all...
Meanwhile...
Gawain's wife, Elyssa, had just
stepped out of the back of the wagon, surprising a young Wood Elf who was looking over the
goods. He looked up and smiled nervously at her before turning to go back to his work.
With that one smile, he had won Elyssa's heart. Elyssa wasn't a scandalous woman, mind
you, but it seemed everywhere Gawain traveled, he had one woman or another waiting for
him, and he had begun to ignore his lovely wife. She had been dedicated to him for so
long, allowing her love to hide his transgressions, but she had finally worn down, and the
sight of this young Wood Elf made up her mind. It was time she started enjoying life
again...
Later that evening, after all the
trade was finished for the night, Gawain announced he was closing up shop until in the
morning and went to his elegant wagon for the night, and sent Elyssa to her own. Once
inside her wagon though, Elyssa's new found plan began to take place. Using a potion she
had traded for earlier in the day, with another of the merchants, she became the likeness
of a stunningly beautiful young elven maiden, and satisfied with her appearance and dress,
she went off in search of the young Wood Elf who had captured her heart with his shy
smile. Finding him quickly, she seduced him and finally spent a night in pleasure.
Forgetting herself and the potion's limited effective time, she fell asleep in the arms of
newfound love...
The next morning, when a stray
council member happened to drop by to wake up Mlk'tar, the Wood Elf Elyssa had seduced, he
found him in bed with none other then ELYSSA, the Merchant's wife, who was no longer under
the glamyrie of the potion from the night before. Shocked, he roused them both, sending
Elyssa back to her camp and taking Mlk'tar directly before the council to stand charges of
dishonoring a Guest Camp agreement... Judgement was pronounced. The Second Cut...
In this particular tribe of Wood
Elves, the first cut was performed at birth of male children.Circumcision. The Second and
Third cuts were reserved for punishment. When a male elf was found to be to
"uncontrollable" he was sentenced to the Second Cut, or castration, in order to
calm him and gentle him to keep him out of more trouble. In rare cases where the offense
demanded it, or in case of a second offense after the Second Cut, the Third Cut would be
Pronounced, decapitation. His Family, the Ferrenia's, stood defiantly in his defense, and
because of such, were banned from the tribe, and now have gone to live in some other
woods, unknown to any, for now...
Having heard how those punished with
the Second Cut gave up on life to idly sit around, docilely working, eating and sleeping,
with no drive whatsoever, Mlk'tar decided it would be better to live in exile outside the
tribe and tried to escape in the night. When seen by the guards, he fought valiantly, but
was killed. Yet, even as he died, he thought this was a kinder fate...
About a month later, Elyssa noticed
she was pregnant, and knowing it could only be Mlk'tar's child, she tried to hide it, but
soon, Gawain found out, and in a fit of rage, threw her out from the merchant train to
live on her own, and she did, raising her child as best she could in their impoverished
state. He was named Sk'tsa Ferrenia, given the last name after his blood father's family
name. He grew up loving his mother very much, and to support himself, and more
importantly, his mother, he took up thieving and trickery, along with gambling, to support
them until one winter, when sickness took his mother's life. Now at the age of 21, young
adolescence for a half-elf, he is out on his own, seeking adventure and fame, and REVENGE
on the husband Gawain, who had doomed his mother and himself to such a hard life...
The Transfer...
It was a clear night, and the moon shone brightly
from above as the town slept. Only the brightness of two smiles could be seen above
the rooftops as brothers prepared for a night of mischief and profit. A window was
all that stood between the two of them and wealth untold. Of course, all the fun of
infiltrating the house of the mightiest mage of the known world called to them as well...
"What do you think we'll find, Sk'tso?"
asked Sk'tsa, the first born of the twins. Sk'tso's eyes sparkled in curious wonder
as he replied, "I only hope it's half of what I've imagined!" With a
chuckle and a wink, they made quick work of the locked window, and slipped silently into
the chambers within.
Stealthily slipping from dark room to dark room, they
made their way deep into the mage's residence, footfalls quieter than any stalking cat
could dream led them cautiously closer to adventure and wealth. Another quick smile
that gleamed in the blackness, and a nod from a twin showed that they had found the door
they were seeking, surrounded by slightly glowing runes carved into the dark hardwood
frame.
With not even a glimmer of fear, Sk'tsa reached out
and touched the arcane symbols and they flared. In awe and delight, both twins
watched as they flared in a myriad of colors before slowly fading to the light glow they
maintained. Chuckling and hoping for even more glamorous magicks within, they drew
out several gifts from friends they had made, and slowly undid the protective magick that
held them out. So intent were they on opening the door, they did not notice the
glowing red eyes that now watched from behind.
As the door opened, Sk'tso could not control himself or his curiosity any longer, and he
dashed through the door. Sk'tsa was not half a second behind, and as they let the
door close, the giggled in uncontrolled mirth. They had DONE it! The treasures
of Malfasu, the mightiest and most feared mage of the realms would FINALLY be theirs!
For many months, they had targetted Malfasu with
pranks and mischief. Once, he had found his slippers full of honey, and the next
day, the hornets appeared in his closet to seek revenge for the stolen honey he had found.
"Do you remember the look on his face when his pants fell down in the market
square?" Sk'tsa asked. "That was my greatest trick yet, and he never even
noticed I was there!"
Sk'tso cackled in glee as well... "And for
so long, YOU thought his face turned that red from embarassment, but all the while, it was
the exploding dye packet I had put in his hat!" The brothers both grinned from
ear to ear and gave each other a hearty high five!
"We would never have figured out how to
counteract his magick without trying him so," said Sk'tsa. "And tonight,
it has FINALLY paid off! Now, we will take the wealth of the most feared and evil
man in the countryside and keep it for OURSELVES!" Sk'tso retorted, "I
just might hide inside the vault to see his face in the morning!" Again, both
twins lost themselves to laughter as they turned to gain their prize.
"PERHAPS," said Malfasu, who stood before
them, "You might see my face in the morning, BUT, I strongly doubt it... The
two of you have been a plague to me for years untold, from the pranks I ran into that
weren't set for me, to all of those that were. And NOW, I extract my revenge.
Fear not, for I shall not slay you. I would HATE for your spirits to be born
again into this world to torment me in future days. Instead, I will remove you
COMPLETELY from my world, and leave you to torment OTHER realms!"
With a flourish of his hands, a shimmering gate
appeared, and the two twins, held by some unseen force, were forced through with nothing
more than the clothes on their back and grins of half wonder and half fear. Several
hours later, they awoke, bruised and battered, in a land where none spoke a tongue they
could understand, and all the folk looked upon them and their dress strangely. For
the entirity of a few seconds, the twin brothers were at a loss and knew not what to do.
Then, with a wink and a nod at each other, they stood and disappeared into the
crowd. Many of the foreign coins soon lined their pockets, and new daggers were
sheathed at their hips, and more than just a few of the strange people yelped in surprise
as they were suddenly found to be walking down main street without any shoes, or were
peeling their fingers out of a pouch mysteriously full of tar.
Beware, citizens of the lands of EverQuest, for now,
the infamous brothers, Sk'tsa and Sk'tso roam... watch your gold AND your shoes, for
a good laugh is worth as much as a stolen pouch to them, and you'll need eyes in the back
of your head to even catch a glimpse of these new marauders! |
