Biography:

Sunshine was born on the Day of the Twin Sun's at High Zenith. The Ogre child was extremely large even for one of his race, a stout male-child. He came at a time of great darkness for the Blokker family, for as fate would have it his father had been slain that very day during a raid on the Lizzardmen’s encampment. Little sunshine was they only ray of hope his mother had. As the Ogrelette came into the world Petunia swore revenge upon the hated lizzard tribes in the land.

Sunshine spent his childhood wondering the gray land of his birth. He quickly realized he had the innate ability for any weapons he picked up, thus began his training as a warrior. Guntrak the resident hero spent much time training sunshine in the ways of war. He was a quick adept student if not the brightest torch in the cave. Fighting came easy and soon he ventured farther and farther from the safety of the Smasher Guards...he was on his way to becoming a Craknek just like his father.

The smaller lizzardmen in the area quickly learned of Sunshine’s skill, but quickly died there after. Tales spread of a dungeon somewhere in the area across the murky gator infested waters that surrounded his home. He ask his mother of this place, hesitantly she told sunshine what she had kept from him for all these years, the truth surrounding his fathers death. Upon hearing how his father died, sunshine was filled with a new hatred for all Lizzardmen and vowed to avenge his fathers’ death. His mother explained that he would need to hone his already formidable fighting skills a great deal more. The place his father died was a very perilous place even for the most seasoned veteran fighters. Not only would he need more skill, but strong companions as well. He now had a purpose. He equipped himself as best he could with the money he had made, barely enough for a few pieces of leather and a half-decent weapon. He planned to return with just one place on his mind....Cazic-Thule!

ADVENTURE ONE

Oggak is scarcely populated and Sunshine grows weary of spending one more day in the dark oppressive land. He has heard there are amazing wonderful things outside his homeland. The Lizardmen have become no challenge at all anymore turning to run on his first strike. He longs for more. More money. More weapons. More armor. More challenges....and MORE SUNLIGHT! Petunia tries to dissuade her only son, but knows it is no use. He has arrived home countless times nearly beaten to death with bungled attempts on Cazic. She fears that if she doesn't get him out of Oggak he will die before he is even ready. She tells Sunshine all she knows of the outside world and he is surprised at the wealth of knowledge she has about so many types of people, places and things. She warns sunshine of the grave dangers that await out side their misty homeland. "You will need to make friends if you even hope to survive for any length of time. But choose wisely! Not all you meet will want to be your friend, in fact most will hate you."

Sunshine asks why they would hate him if they didn't know him. "They will hate you because you are big and beautiful and they are not. The smaller they are the more they will probably hate you. Just be careful." she told him. Sunshine had a hard time grasping this but he knew his ma was very smart and he would listen. Even with all that danger Sunshine was about to bust with excitement....he grabbed his 6 suitcases and headed out of Ferrott. The muddy path lead over the Great Stone Bridge toward the mountain range. The thick trees began to thin out and the mist that permeated the area began to dissipate. The mountain burst up from the ground reaching high above the trees. The walls far to shear for any to climb, but Sunshine didn't need to climb those peaks; the little muddy trail led right into a ravine. The wind began whistling though the peaks as if calling his name. About halfway through the pass the strangest thing happened. There, sitting right in front of him, were 2 of the oddest looking creatures he had ever seen. They looked to be resting and talking in some sort of broken speech they he seems to know. He crept closer to get a better look. What ever these things were they had huge butt cracks and didn't mind showing anyone that happened along. He remembered his mamas warning and readied his weapon as he inched a little closer. He hoped he could sneak up on them, they seemed oblivious to his presence. The closer he got the bigger they got, easily the biggest creatures he had ever fought. Almost as big as he himself and there were 2 of them! All a sudden they were both engulfed in blue flames. One was standing and waggling his arms but the other wasn't moving. Sunshine had seen this before from the Lizzardmen Shamans, one of the many times he had almost died. He looked around wearily for more of the big green things after all the lizzardmen always attacked in bands of 4 and 5.

Sunshine almost dropped his axe in surprise when his whole body began tingling and glowing. He turned to run and was amazed at the speed he could move. He must really be pumped up he thought, but he was moving faster than he ever remembered, as fast as the wind. The majik beast shouted at him to stop. Sunshine turned to see both of them running at him as fast as the wind. He was so stunned he could not move. He gripped his axe tightly and prepared for battle like so many times before. Instead of attacking they stopped short and hailed him. "Hiya, we goona killz sum humoons...ya wanna come long?" the one with the huge sword ask. They introduced themselves as Rumrum and Azgoth the trolls. They told Sunshine of a little village not far into Rathe Mountains where humans lived. They were small little mean creatures that hated Ogres and Trolls according to Rumrum. The humans had belts that were prized by store keeps and they would pay handsomely for them. Sunshine decided to give it a try, but he would keep a close eye on these to for a bit in case it was a trap. The battles that followed that day proved long, hard, and bloody. These humans were no easy targets; on the contrary, all 3 came very close to dying many times during that day. Sunshine was greatly impressed with this pair of trolls. Rumrum was a great fighter and he did the "baiting". He would pull the humans from their houses 2 at a time while he and Azgoth waited a short distance away. Azgoth, "Az" as he came to be known was very adept in the ways of majik. Not only did he heal the wounds of the trio he also cast spells on them to aid in battle. Sunshine ran faster, felt stronger and moved quicker than he ever did, with the aid of Az's spells. Even "Rum" as he became to be known had some crushing majik to go with that big 2 handed sword. The 3 worked together beautifully and skillfully drawing from each other's strengths. Soon the trio had amassed a small fortune. They we burdened with coins and items of all types as well as the prized belt the Trolls spoke of. It had been a long day of fighting all needed food, water, and time to reflect on the day's events. Sunshine bade the 2 well and all promised to meet again on the morrow. He took the path that lead toward Ferrott hating to part ways with his newfound companions. He had learned much this day. The value of strong companions and the benefits of majik, the art of strategic warfare, to divide and conquer, and never judge an enemy by its' size or lack there of! Guntrik will be very proud of him and perhaps maybe have something new to teach him. Stopping at Iggoks' Inn to unload his burden, Sunshine empties his six cases onto the counter and Iggok figures the total for all. Sunshine is amazed when he is handed close to 50 new platinum pieces! The trolls had not lied about the value of those belts! He now has more than enough for a good weapon and quite a few pieces of armor.

ADVENTURE TWO

Under purple-gray skies Sunshine headed out early the next morn eager to meet up with the trolls and continue pursuing his road to riches. The air was hot and oppressive even before dawn and rain was whispering in the wind. Even if it came a deluge it would not hamper Sunshine’s light-hearted mood. He was most impressed with himself, as was Guntrik. He now had the basics of bashing with his shield. Guntrik had told him; "With much practice it would daze an enemy for a bit allowing him and extra swing of his new axe. It is very useful against majik as well by making the caster bungle the spell."

Along with the new axe taken from a dead Minotaur, the shopkeeper said, Sunshine bought many pieces of leather armor. The cloth that had served well had grown torn and tattered from to much use. This new leather would last longer and save him much bloodshed. He had even stopped briefly it to gaze at all the shiny new chainmail at the nearby shop. Once the price of such items had seemed totally outrageous, but after yesterdays raid on the village he new it would not be long before he had a piece or two to call his own. Already he felt pretty spiffy in all the crisp new leather. He couldn’t wait till the trolls saw his new look. Not only was he becoming a great warrior, but also now he was starting to look like one to. He hoped the trolls had bought some new pants with their money. Maybe the new ones would cover their butt cracks…one could only hope.

Sunshine sat down to wait on the two, midway through the ravine, where he had met them the day before. He daydreamed of all the battles yesterday and wondered what else lay in wait for him outside the mountains. He had to admit he did enjoy fighting the humans, but couldn’t help but wonder if there were any consequences to his actions. The smell of his new leather brought him out of his revelry. He liked the way the new armor smelled and felt against his skin. Whatever the price it was surely worth it if it helped him to avenge his father’s death. Sunshine had heard many fantastic tales about his dad now that he was old enough to go to the taverns. All the Smasher Guards remembered his father’s deeds and spoke highly of him. The more ale they drank the more fantastic the tales became, but Sunshine never tired of hearing them even if they were a bit exaggerated.

Sitting with his back to the wall, as he always did, he heard a soft rustling noise close by. He looked around but the pass was empty. No one or no thing in sight, but Sunshine felt the presence of something close by. Maybe it was the spirit of he father or maybe it was just the constantly blowing wind. "BOO!" some thing shouted and Sunshine about jumped out of his new armor. He leapt up Mino axe clutched tightly in one huge hand and an enormous kite shield in the other ready to slash and bash anything that moved! He spun around to face his attacker but none was to be found, the pass was empty. Positive he was not hearing things he turned a few more time not wanting to sit back down in a prone position, but sure enough the pass was empty as far as the eye could see. Just as he was about to sit back down he heard a soft cackling noise close by. It seemed somewhat familiar and was getting louder and was accompanied by rustling and thumping noises. He was sure he had heard that cackling noise before, but where? It was just about to dawn on him when the air immediately in front of him began to shimmer ever so slightly, hazy at first then clearer as the cackling was getting louder. Sunshine began slowly backing away tightening the grip on both his axe and shield. On the ground in front of him lay Rumrum and Azgoth rolling around and laughing so hard they could hardly breathe. "How ya likes me new invisible spell Sun?" Az said through the cackling laughter. Sunshine decided he would get these two practical jokers back….when they least expected it. He could play this game as well as the next Ogre. He already began formulating his payback plan.

Sunshine was saddened to see that neither Rum nor Az had felt the need to spend their new wealth on anything that may cover those unsightly butt cracks. Rum had bought a chain hat with horns and Az now possessed some powerful new majik. Along with the invisible spell he had acquired a spell of stamina of bears and feet of a cat. Spells that would definitely prove useful in the coming battles. The trio banded together and Az began casting spells all around. Sun was becoming addicted to the benefits of majik and wondered how he ever fought without it…or if he ever would have to again. If these became friends, as Sun suspected, perhaps they would be then one’s to help him exact his father’s revenge, only time would tell.

The three sped of with the quickness of a wolf toward Rathe Mountains. The mountains could be confusing and one wrong turn may lead to instant death. Rum spoke of one pass that dead-ended into a Griffin’s lair. To take that path would mean certain death even with the help of Az’s speed spells. The pass lead them to the Ank’s Totem where the huge bugs were always present. If they were to get to close the Anks would attack they new from experience. Although the bugs were not particularly difficult they were a nuisance. A sharp right turn at the totem put them in the right direction. In the distance the rooftops of the small village huts were barely visible. They cut between the Inn and some huts to a small hill that offered a good vantage point of the whole area. With their new experience the humans seemed to fall easier this day than the one before and soon the prized belts were flowing. The weapons, armor, and spells the group had bought made quite a difference in the battles that ensued. They were able to attack more efficiently dealing more damage and taking less in turn. With quicker attacks they became laded much sooner than the day before. Their prowess was such that they had much time between battles, so much in fact that Rum became antsy. There was no end to his bloodlust this day. Instead of resting with the other two he began to circle out from them looking for newer exciting challenges.

Sunshine and Azgoth sat on the grassy knoll engrossed in conversation. Az spoke of his homeland and Sun was surprised to find out just how close it was to his. Az spoke wistfully of his childhood in the swamp and a natural hate for the froglets in the area. He told how he had grown from a little Troll to the powerful shaman he was now. He also spoke of another pass from the swamp that led to place with many Orc encampments that he had discovered in his youth. That’s when the blood-curdling scream rang out "HELP!" screamed Rum. Az and sun rose just in time to see Rumrum running for his life from the biggest Kodiak bear either of them had ever seen. Rum was in bad shape bleeding badly and the huge beast mauled him once again. With the help of the wolf spell Az and Sun were upon the battle almost instantly, even before the two started to slow Az’s hands began glowing blue. Sun launched into the melee with axe and shield screaming and yelling to get the bears attention. The Kodiak was not easily taunted from Rum obviously preferring Troll-meat to Ogre-meat. No amount of spitting and cussing could capture the bears’ attention and Sun could see Rum began to falter. Az continued to bathe Rum in blue light, but the bear seemed devil-spawned and relentless in his attacks. Sun dealt some major damage to the beast and one rather well placed slash finally got the bears attention. It released its’ hold on Rum leg and began to feast on Sunshine instead. Relentless the beast attacked with both tooth and nail. Rum pulled back out or the bears’ range with a fragile grasp on life. Az had exhausted his mana supply and it had been just enough to sustain Rumrum. Quickly the bear had put Sunshine in the same shape as Rum. With no mana Az began his attack as well, although not yet adept in the ways of fighting he dealt out some considerable damage. It had come down to the end…it was either Sunshine or the Kodiak. With one final bite the darkness engulfed sunshine and as he fell he heard the death roar of the bear as he to fell from Az’s crushing blow.

The smell of fresh blood filled Sun’s nose and he was washed in the sweet song of majik. "Wha ‘appened?" he said finding his voice. "Ya got yerself ‘bout kilt is all!" Az said still casting his healing spells. When Sunshine regained conscienceness he opened his eyes to see Rum and Az with that same concerned look his ma always gave him. Both were pretty banged up but both were alive. The bear on the other hand lay sprawled beside Sun where it had fallen in death. "Gonner make arug outta it." Rum said, already bent over skinning the huge bear. He should make a pair of pants out of it to cover that huge crack he was displaying grandly for all of Norrath, Sun thought.

All returned to the grassy knoll to heal, rest, and regain mana. The trio were very quiet, all lost in thought of the last battle. Az was memorizing and Rum was fussing around with his bearskin when Sunshine had a brilliant idea. Rum’s crack was prominently displayed from where he sat, as always, so Sun grabbed up a hand full of rocks and tossed at his target. About half found their way in to that huge cavern and Rumrum set to digging them out. Sun could tell Rum was concentrating intently at his new task when he screamed "RUN KODIAK!" Rumrum tried to get up, run, and remove his had from his backside all simultaneously. In his haste to flee the bear skin tangled his feet and fell flat on his face never quite clearing the top of his pants with his big hand. Down the knoll he rolled hand still stuck in the back of his pants. He came to rest at the bottom of the hill, face down; hand still buried where the sun always was shining.

Az and Sun were rolling around laughing so hard they were crying. That Kodiak have left its’ mark on Rumrum. Sun had gotten his revenge on one of the trolls; next it was Azgoths’ turn. Both sat up to watch Rum untangle himself still snickering. He to began to laugh at the joke relieved that there was not another Kodiak about to attack. Rum smiled that knowing smile…the games were definitely afoot.
